Oral English Final Test (First semester in 2013-2014)
1. You want to help one dropout student from the poor mountainous area. Your partner says yes to this
idea. You suggest organizing an event to raise money for the student. Talk about the plan. Make sure your conversation takes at least 2 minutes.
2. Suppose one of your friends will pay a visit to the city where you live. You have a telephone
conversation in advance planning his/her visit, including how long he/she will stay, what sightseeing spots he/she will visit, which hotel he/she may stay, etc. Act out the telephone conversation. Make sure your conversation takes at least 2 minutes.
3. You failed in the exam. Now, you are telling your partner what happened and how you felt. Your

4. Suppose one of your roommates' girlfriends (or boyfriends) went to America. He/She is telling you

5. Your neighbor, Mr. White had his car stolen last night. He is expressing his anger to you and you are
suggesting that he should report this to the police. He follows your advice and you try your best to comfort him. Make sure your conversation takes at least 2 minutes.
6. You lost your smart phone. You express your anger to your roommate. Your roommate is trying to
help you recall where you left it. He accompanies you to look for it and in the end, you find it in the security office of the Building of Foreign Language. Make sure your conversation takes at least 2 minutes.
7. You have read an interesting news story recently and your roommate is very interested in it. Tell
him/her the story and respond appropriately to his/her comments on your introduction of the news. Then talk about how both of you usually get news. Make sure your conversation takes at least 2 minutes.
8. You want to know more about George Washington (or Napoleon Bonaparte, Abraham Lincoln, and
Winston Churchill). You ask your partner information about the leader you have chosen. You partner gives you an important piece of information about him. You two also talk about the sequence of events during the war and estimate about the size of the armies. Make sure your conversation takes at least 2 minutes.
9. You partner is preparing for a presentation about World War I (or World War II, The American
Revolution, and The American Civil War). You know the approximate date and the countries involved. He/She asks you to tell him/her what caused the war, how the war ended and the effect of the war. Make sure your conversation takes at least 2 minutes.
10. You and your partner both agree that the quick advancement of the Internet has a huge effect on the
traditional media. Talk about the positive and negative impacts and try to show your personal

12. Imagine that you are a reporter for a Sports Channel and you are interviewing your partner about

13. You and your partner are discussing about the benefits of raising pets. Use detailed examples to

14. Animals are quite smart. Please discuss with your partners in what ways animals are intelligent and
